Consume Consciously

The power we have every day of our lives to vote with our wallets is one of the most effective ways of shaping society. To encourage their use I have a bank of discount codes and offers from ethically-minded companies. I also have an Ethical Directory of ethically-minded brands. Click the links to browse through them, or use the search bar below to find a specific brand or offer.

Responsible Consumerism

My intention is to highlight ethical deals and brands so that we can use more ethically sourced goods at great prices, but remember to consume consciously: If you don’t need it, don’t buy it!

By using my site to find alternatives to products that exploit* workers and the planet you are contributing to a better future.

I’m often asked how I define ‘ethical’ in relation to the goods and services I include on the site. And quite rightly so. Very few products or services can claim to be 100% perfect but I aim, in the very best faith, to highlight those which are more ethical than their mainstream alternatives. e.g. Whilst they may not necessarily be perfect an organically-grown, socially-conscious tea company would be deemed more ethical than the mainstream alternative most commonly found in supermarkets. If the ethical alternative became the mainstream then my ethical alternative suggestion would push even further.

Thus, I aim to always promote those goods and services which are working towards improving ethical standards and creating a better world. Wherever possible I use research and markers to gauge a brand’s ethical credentials. Feedback from the community is always welcome. If you’d like to give me feedback on a particular brand, service or product you can do so here.

*Not sure which are the exploitative products? -Most products that don’t explicitly state their ethical credentials are using exploitation of some kind. Read more on what constitutes and exploitative product here.
