World of Books
World of Books are a B-Corp with a focus on sustainability.
They are one of Ethical Consumer magazine’s ‘Best Buy’ for books.
The company was founded on an ethos to do good, to help charities and to make a positive impact. They want to share the love of literature by rereading and reusing books.
Use my Ethical Book Search tool to search for books from multiple ethical booksellers in one go.
World of books is not ethical they take an order on the 10th of December guaranteed by 24 th here we are the 27th and they’re saying that it’s at their shipper OSM and that’s what the label says OSM says we have received nothing they play with their labels. Here is the big problem in order for me to get a return that way I have to wait for the book return the book to England to get my money back. What happens when I don’t get a book am I just out the $21 for a 30-year-old book. On top of it they knew it was a Christmas gift never had a shot of getting it to me promise me they could. Now all I can is to talk to their bot How convenient and they don’t answer their phones and their emails are answered by a computer. Not ethical at all and shouldn’t be able to do business in America or on the internet One man’s opinion who has become very frustrated.
Hi Patrick,
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Sadly a story like yours does tend to come up from time to time and it is very frustrating especially when it’s an undelivered Christmas gift. Feel free to submit your result to my Ethical Bookseller Survey which will contribute to World of Books’ rating here on Ethical Revolution.
I hope the rest of your Christmas break has been stress-free. Wishing you a happy 2024.
Sam
