UK Trials Four-Day Week

The four-day working week could be edging closer as a thousand employees across various industries take part in a new pilot of a four-day week in the UK.

Their hours will be cut while their pay-packet will remain the same, with the findings from the pilot to be presented to the UK government in the middle of 2025.

A previous four-day week trial recorded the following benefits:

  • 65% fewer sick days taken.
  • 57% decrease in the number of staff leaving.
  • 35% average revenue increases for participating firms.

Recognising these benefits in productivity, roughly 200 British firms have already switched to a shorter working week according to the 4 Day Week Campaign group.

4 Day Week Campaign director Joe Ryle said, “These incredible results show that the four-day week with no loss of pay really works.”

  1. It’s definitely never simple. Hoping you’re able to focus on the great things as much as possible and that the struggles can ease.
